Q. How do you ship your crab cakes?

A. We ship our products with FedEx and UPS in order to find the best price for each individual customer. Products are shipped next day air. We package all of our perishable products with frozen gel packs to keep them fresh. The package will stay fresh for up to 40 hours. Products should be refrigerated if not consumed immediately.

Q. How can I track my order?

A. Our system will email you a tracking number along with a website (ups.com or fedex.com) where you can track it.

Q. What if I am not home when the package arrives?

A. Although we highly recommend that someone be home to sign for your delivery, UPS or FedEx will leave your package if no one is home if you specify when you place your order. If you are shipping to a gated community, apartment community, or a condo, please make sure access to your particular unit is available for delivery.

Q. Is your website secure?

A. Your payment and personal information is always safe. Our Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all of your personalinformation, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read over the internet.

Q. How do I cook them?

Q. What is the shelf life of the crab cakes, crab balls, and soup in the fridge?

A. Our products are best 2 - 3 days after you receive them but can be safely eaten up to 5 days after you receive them if properly refrigerated.

Q. Are your products cooked when they arrive?

A. The only product that will arrive cooked is the Maryland Crab Soup, which hast to be heated prior to consumption. All other products need to be cooked.

Q. How is the product packaged?

A. Blue Water products are shipped fresh (soup is shipped frozen). After they are prepared, they are placed in individual plastic containers for shipping. Your order will be shipped in a Styrofoam box with frozen gel packs to maintain the temperature.

A. We use nothing but the freshest handpicked jumbo lump and backfin blue crab meat. For more information, click here.

Q. Can I freeze the crab cakes?

A. We have never tried freezing our products (other than the soup) so we do not guarantee this method. We've heard from many of our customers that freeze what they can't consume immediately and none have had any issues. They say it is best to defrost the products in the refrigerator before you cook them.

Q. What do I do if my soup arrives not completely frozen?

A. Although our soup is shipped frozen, sometimes the soup partially defrosts during shipping. This is normal and does not affect the quality of the product. We do not recommend refreezing the soup.

Q. Can I include a note with my package?

A. Yes. There is an area after you type in your credit card information that allows you to leave your name and a message for the recipient.

Q. What is a CVV number?

A. This is a 3 digit verification number that is located on the back of the credit card next to the signature strip (Visa / MC / Discover).
